Before we start: Downloading .cias and playing them is perfectly safe and you won't be banned!
First of all, please read carefully what is written in this thread, because it is going to answer almost every question one could have!
Now that Freeshop and all other clients which use titlekeys start to get unusable because of the recent 'anti-piracy measurements' Nintendo started to implement in 11.8, some people seem to panic, because for them there seems no way to get .cias.
Nintendo didn't 'kill piracy' how some people said. They just killed the convenience and we have to take a step more before we get our favorite .cia on our 3DS. We have to download the .cia on our computer and get it onto our 3DS to install it with FBI. I'd recommend Boop, which is pretty self explainatory or any FTP Client (you should have one in your Homebrew launcher). Because it's pretty convenient and easy.
So now we need the .cias for our lovely 3DS. Here are some sites you could look for your favorite .cia.
The Piratebay: Guys you should start using torrents, they have pretty much anything you need.
Dark Umbra: 10Minute Mail is a thing.
3DS Cia: It's a site which has almost every major title someone could look for. Many 1st party and 3rd party titles. And the big ones are almost all there! EVERY FILE ASKS FOR A PASSWORD WHEN YOU ECTRACT IT AND THE PASSWORD IS '3dscia.com'
3DS Iso: It's a forum where you have to register to use the the search function. But I think that's nothing that should bother you. 10Minute mails are still a thing.
Madloader: Pretty convenient but I don't like the way they distribute the .cias via some Filesharing services and some premium download services. Either way, it's a site where you can look for your desired file.
The Eye: Here you can get .3ds files, you have to encrypt it via a converter. But here you should find everything you need! The-Eye + Godmode9 = Most solid! Godmode9
Juegos NDS-Gratis: This is a spanish site, but you should be able to translate it via the implemented translator in Chrome!
3DS-Cias THIS is not 3DS Cia, which is the far superior site, which you should look first, but it's a brazilian blogspot, again you can translate it with the built in translator in your browser!
Pro-Tip: Use another search engine than Google. You probably have noticed, that if you type 'xxxxx.cia' many sites weren't listed on Google. That's because of some DMCA complaints. Now we need a search enginge which doesn't give a shit about DMCA complaints (or doesn't get that much of them) and maybe a search engine which gives a shit about privacy, a search engine that combines both is DuckDuckGo. You could also type in your wanted .cia in Google, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the 'DCMA' complain, which should lead to a site called 'Lumendatabase' where you can find the links, which were removed from Google because of the DMCA complaints.
