Hi Ray,
1. Was it working fine before? If so, do you remember making any recent changes to the computer prior to this issue?
2. Does this happen when trying to download files from all the websites?

This issue might occur due to some third party add-ons causing the issue. I would suggest you to try the following methods.

Method 1:Check if the “downloads” are saved in “download” folder follow the steps:

a. Click the Start button
b. Click on documents and then on left side click on downloads folder and check if the downloads are saved in the location

May 08, 2018  Cannot Download File From Internet Explorer. The program and the file Contained a virus was Deleted. I am not able to download anything from internet explorer or any other browser, i can under stand was was into my computer, i don’t have any virus so why it is shows ” the program and the file contained a virus and was deleted” i am wondered still i am not able to download.
